Five stars. 250 suites. The expectations were as high as the average temperatures in Qatar’s sun-kissed capital, Doha, for this luxury hotel launch in 2004.
We were tasked with overseeing the handover process from the contractors to the owners, and managing the pre-opening period to ensure the successful launch of Qatar’s latest luxury hotel. The result? An 80% occupancy rate immediately following the soft opening.
Our remit included
- Ensuring the property was handed over in perfect condition, with full adherence to handover mechanics including the snagging process, guarantees, M&E certification, completion certificates and contract compliance.
- Sourcing and selecting hotel systems including both the administrative and guest IT infrastructure, PMS, telephone, data management, interfaces, entertainment, door controls and Micro-Master systems.
- Development and deployment of SOPs, company policy handbooks, HR templates and compliance documentation.
- Implementation of a successful brand and PR strategy.
- Recruitment and appointment of the senior management team.
- Planning the launch event.
- Implementation of a realistic, productive, and successful sales and marketing strategy for accommodation, six F&B outlets and ten large conference and banqueting spaces.
- Working closely with the company’s head of finance to prepare budgets, forecasts, and projections in line with industry standards.
- Deploy industry benchmarks and Key Performance Indicators to measure management performance, business output potential and service excellence delivery.
